Cinco De Mayo is officially here. A day, in my opinion, that is truly worth celebrating. Like, really celebrating. Margaritas are after all one of the greatest inventions on earth, and also the love of my life. Luckily, I have a few really stellar Marg recipes that will change your life. WATERMELON MARGARITAS 


RECIPE: WATERMELON MARGARITAS


4 cups frozen watermelon

1 cup tequila

1/4 cup triple sec

1/4 cup orange juice

1 tablespoon lime juice

1 tablespoon sugar

handful of mint leaves

Salt & chili powder for rims


method:

1. Prepare watermelon for freezing by scooping and removing any seeds. Place in a freezer safe container or plastic bag. Freeze the night before or a few hours before happy hour.

2. Combine all ingredients in a blender and pulse until smooth and mint is finely chopped. Be careful not to over-blend, and create a “watery consistency”.

3. Dip margarita glasses first in lemon juice and then into a mixture of coarse salt and chili powder to create a festive and tasty rim. Fill the glass and garnish with a slice of watermelon and fresh mint sprig. Enjoy!

CLASSIC MARGARITA with a fruity rim 


RECIPE: Classic Margarita


4 cups ice

1 cup tequila

1/4 cup triple sec

1/4 cup orange juice

1 tablespoon lime juice

1 tablespoon sugar or 1-ounce simple syrup


method:

1. Combine all ingredients, adjusting to one’s taste, in a blender and pulse until mixture becomes a thick slush.

2. Dip margarita glasses first in lime juice and then into a mixture of coarse salt and crushed fruity cereal to create a festive and tasty rim. Fill the glass and garnish with a slice of lime or jalapeno. Enjoy!

SPARKLING ROSE´ Margaritas


RECIPE: SPARKLING ROSE´ MARGARITAS


 2 ounces silver tequila

1 ounce triple sec
4-5 mint leaves
 Raspberries
 Lime juice
 Sparkling Rose or champagne

 Sugar for garnish


 method:
1. Combine mint leaves, raspberries, and ice in a cocktail shaker. Muddle the mint with the ice and raspberries by pressing with a sturdy spoon. Add tequila, triple sec, and lime juice. Shake until a frost has developed on the outside of the shaker and it’s cold to the touch. Pour into a cocktail glass with a sugar rim. Top with sparkling rose.
For the  sugar rim….
Dip glasses first in lime juice and then into sugar to create a festive and tasty rim. Fill the glass and garnish with additional raspberries. Enjoy!
